this week in clinicals we learned how to insert urinary catheters and change the dressing for a central line portal. they are both pretty simple as far as the procedures go, the hardest part is maintaining a sterile field. the equipment for these procedures come in sterile packaging to reduce infections, so the whole time u are using them, u CANNOT contaminate them (meaning have anything sterile touch something nonsterile) or u have to start over. It is kinda hard to put on sterile gloves because u can touch ur skin at all while doing it.
it is snowing here today its actually snowed quite a bit. I'm staying in!!
